The European Roma Rights Centre (ERRC) calls for the participation of Roma and Traveller women activists and women-led Roma and Traveller organisations in a short and practical legal training, focusing on the Council of Europe standards and mechanisms for promoting Roma and Travellers rights.
For the third consecutive year, the Council of Europe is supporting the capacity building of Roma and Travellers’ civil society organisations to engage with Council of Europe mechanisms.
Recommendation CM/Rec(2024)1 of the Committee of Ministers to member States on equality of Roma and Traveller women and girls calls for measures for the legal education and empowerment of Roma and Traveller women and girls.
To this end, with support from the Council of Europe, the ERRC focuses now on empowering Roma and Traveller communities to navigate the complex landscape of rights and legal protection. Participants will learn to look at real-life problems—like discrimination, violence, and poverty—using the rules and standards that the Council of Europe has developed.
More information is available in the full call for participation published by ERRC.
