INSCHOOL Inclusive Education Ambassador induction seminar in Strasbourg

The Joint Project of the European Union and Council of Europe – Inclusive Schools: Making a Difference for Roma Children (INSCHOOL) welcomed eleven newly selected “Inclusive Education Ambassadors” in Strasbourg between 28 and 29 March 2023, for an induction seminar.

The main aim of the seminar was to discuss and develop specific initiatives to raise awareness about the value and impact of inclusive education in their respective countries and internationally. The purpose of the Inclusive Education Initiative is to support teachers, schools, and educational authorities in improving learning and governance processes to respond to the needs of all children, irrespective of their socio-economic, ethnic, language or any other background.

The ambassadors from Albania, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Portugal, Romania, the Slovak Republic, and the United Kingdom have diverse personal and professional backgrounds, that includes Roma and non-Roma human rights activists, former students of segregated and special schools, teachers, school principals and journalists. In the months to come these ambassadors will share their inspirational stories of education, perseverance and strength and will engage with variety of stakeholders.
