The 20th meeting of the Council of Europe Dialogue with Roma and Traveller civil society (Concept note) is scheduled to take place on 23-24 September 2025 in hybrid format, in Strasbourg and online, and it will focus on the social rights of Roma and Travellers, as highlighted by the European Committee on Social Rights (ECSR) in its conclusions and decisions on collective complaints on this topic.
The meeting will:
- Present relevant follow-up to decisions of the ECSR related to Roma and Traveller social rights
- Provide updates on the implementation of these decisions, bringing forward the perspective of civil society organisations
- Discuss the challenges in the process of advancing social rights of Roma and Travellers
- Bring forward possible avenues of co-operation with civil society organisations that can support advancement of social rights of Roma and Travellers
Selection criteria for Dialogue participants:
- geographical representation of the participants at national and regional levels and across Council of Europe member States;
- gender balance;
- experience and expertise on Roma and Traveller inclusion, in particular on social rights;
- current or latest contribution or project implementation in the aforementioned areas;
- ability to work orally and in writing in at least one of the official languages of the Council of Europe (English or French) or in Romani;
- availability to attend two 1-day preparatory online training sessions (exact dates to be confirmed at a later stage);
- personal motivation.
The call is open to representatives of Roma and Traveller civil society organisations.
Interested candidates must complete an online Application Form by 4 July 2025, midnight, Central European Time (CET). Incomplete applications or applications received after that deadline will not be considered.
